FIELD SUPPORT MERCHANDISER

Due to the continued rapid expansion of Rock Fall Safety Boots, Seekers has been tasked with recruiting a brand-new position to help support their Field Sales Executives,  divisional sales managers and national distribution partners. As a Field Sales Support Specialist, you will have the opportunity to develop a career as a safety sales professional by promoting the Rock Fall range of safety footwear to industrial end users. This is a national role and requires someone ideally based in the midlands, who can be on the road representing the brand at trade fairs, distributor events and safety exhibitions.

Rock Fall UK is an award-winning family business, with over 30 years’ experience in the footwear industry. Based from their Derbyshire head office and distribution centre, they distribute safety footwear to resellers, wholesalers and distributors around the world. As a family business, Rock Fall have a unique and forward-thinking approach to sourcing and product development, ensuring they continue to innovate and remain market leaders in the safety footwear industry. A strong performing and fast-growing business that has seen consistent year on year growth for the last 14 years, with warehouses in both the United Kingdom and USA. 

They're now seeking a Field Support Merchandiser that has, energy, determination and able to create high impact change with a strong attitude towards ‘getting things done’ and a very keen eye for detail. Visiting our customers retail outlets UK wide ensuring they are merchandised to the highest possible standards, as well as making sure we stand out from the crowd. You will be heading up distributor open days where you’ll be promoting and demonstrating product features and benefits to end-users and generating sales for the distributor on the day. End user site visits are also an important part of the role which you’ll be required to interact with end users of our products by promoting features and benefits, conducting footwear site audits, wellbeing programs and tools box talks.


This position involves a huge amount of traveling around the UK, if you love to get around and visit new places this position is for you. A high specification company van will be provided with the latest mod cons.

You will have complete ownership for our in-store merchandising with no fixed rule book, enabling you to use your own initiative depending on the store and environment. Giving you the opportunity to put your stamp on the business and put your ideas to full use.

 

We require the successful candidate to:-

  • Be responsible for creating effective store displays through merchandising and organising our products on site to give the end user the best experience of Rock Fall’s range of Safety Footwear & Accessories.

  • Be confident, have a smart appearance with the ability to develop good customer relationships.

  • Have good commercial awareness and understand how the critical placement of products within retail stores affect sales performance

  • Be prepared to get involved with the process from start to finish - building, cleaning, and moving racking across our customer’s branches.

  • Head up end user onsite product demonstrations and toolbox talks, site footwear audits and wellbeing clinics.

  • Head up distributor open days, interact and sell products to end-users on behalf of the distributor.

  • Collect and deliver point-of-sale and start-up stock to our distribution partners sites. Whilst taking full responsibility for maintaining Rock Fall’s point of sale to a high standard.

  • Work as part of a wider team sharing ideas and good practice with our sales teams to drive business success.

  • Have a “can-do approach” managing relationships and expectations at branch level – building a strong rapport with internal teams and branch staff.

  • Enjoy being out on the road and working independently, also being prepared to stay away from home when required, accommodation and meal expenses will be covered.

  • It is a major requirement to be able to manage your own workload, be proactive and work to deadlines as part of our fast-paced company.

  • Put the customers’ needs at the centre of everything you do.

  • Be confident with using technology.

  • Enjoy the physical elements of this role

  • Previous merchandising experience of some form is essential

  • VITAL must hold a full UK driving licence with maximum of 6 points

Location: Nationwide (UK) – When not travelling then home office based, head office based or coffee shop based
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday with some flexibility

Pay: £30’000 per annum plus generous bonus scheme and potential for rapid growth within the business. Contributory Pension scheme
